About Us

The main goal of SOWCLE is to empower Afghan women, children and, eliminate all types of legal, administrative, and personal discrimination against them.

To create a platform and bring together all the necessary means, expertise and knowledge to work for the sustainable development in all the key areas, human resources, health, education, livelihood, peace building, poverty reduction, community empowerment and a responsive services provision system through a decentralize and community based approaches.

Objectives

  • To distribute healthcare and sanitary products to vulnerable women and girls to overcome difficult conditions and improve their quality of life.
  • To carry out community-focused and community involved sustainable development and to deliver and/or assist with basic needs such as health, health and hygiene education and clean water.
  • To focus on women and children rights and create awareness in the community awareness of health, drug, education, training to the families of the mention villages.
  • To eliminate the taboos, misconception and Harmful cultural practices harming the health and well-being of women and girls.
  • To support the poor, war affected and school children by providing Emergency aid programs such as food, household materials, stationery kits & etc.
  • To render services in the capacity building sectors, specifically educational and vocational trainings, and other basic social requirements.
  • To help Afghan women become literate and to train them for vocational various fields so that they might lead financially independent lives in a society free of crimination.
  • To provide Training and capacity Building Programs for Community elders.
  • To establish training courses and income generation projects in order to enable Afghans to earn for their daily consumption.
  • To carry out health and nutrition services to the highly needy Afghan communities.
  • To provide educational opportunities for Afghan children, specifically for war-affected, demobilized children, returnees, IDPs and other vulnerable children.

Projects

In 2012, Social Organization for Women and Children Life Empowerment launched a tailoring training project in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The program empowered local women through practical sewing, embroidery, and garment construction skills, fostering financial independence and community support. Graduates established successful tailoring businesses, contributing to economic stability for their families and communities. This initiative marked a significant step toward advancing women’s empowerment in one of Afghanistan’s most challenging regions.

Social Organization for Women and Children Life Empowerment conducted a first aid training project in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, aimed at improving the health and safety of local communities. The program provided participants, particularly women, with essential first aid skills, including how to handle medical emergencies, perform basic wound care, and manage common injuries. By equipping individuals with life-saving knowledge, the project empowered women to take active roles in safeguarding the health of their families and communities. The training also raised awareness about the importance of timely medical intervention, contributing to a reduction in preventable injuries and deaths in the region. This initiative helped build community resilience and created a network of trained first responders in a province with limited healthcare resources.

In 2012, Social Organization for Women and Children Life Empowerment implemented a solar panel installation project in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, with the goal of providing sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities. This initiative trained local women in the installation and maintenance of solar panels, enabling them to contribute to energy generation in their homes and villages. By introducing renewable energy technology, the project addressed the region’s electricity shortages, improving living conditions and reducing reliance on traditional fuel sources. The training also empowered women by giving them practical, marketable skills, while promoting environmental sustainability. This project not only enhanced access to clean energy but also paved the way for economic opportunities and greater self-reliance within the community.

In 2012, the Social Organization for Women and Children Life Empowerment launched a women’s beautician training project in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, aimed at empowering women with skills in the beauty industry. The project provided participants with comprehensive training in hair styling, skincare, makeup, and salon management. By acquiring these professional skills, women were able to open their own beauty salons or work within their communities, creating new economic opportunities. The initiative not only promoted financial independence but also fostered self-confidence and personal growth among participants. As a result, many women were able to contribute to their household income, while the project helped shift societal perceptions by encouraging women to engage in business and entrepreneurship in a culturally sensitive manner.
